2018 RECURVE WORLD CUP SELECTION ADDENDUM

1) INTRODUCTION

This document serves as a Selection Addendum to Archery Canada’s Recurve National Team Selection Policy. The purpose of this Addendum is to define the event specific criteria used by Archery Canada to select the athletes, who will compete at the 2018 Archery World Cup events. 2) ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE WORLD CUPS

Team selection will be made pursuant to Archery Canada’s Recurve National Team Selection Policy, as appropriate, and this Addendum. Eligibility requirements must be met as stated in the Selection Policy and this Addendum.

3) SELECTION DETAILS BY EVENT

As listed under section 4.1 of the Selection Policy, the following Event Specific Criteria will be applied to select the athlete(s) who will participate as part of the 2018 World Cup teams as
follows;

3.1 WORLD CUP, SHANGHAI, CHINA April 23 - 29, 2018
1. Past Performance
Performance evaluation will include 2018 indoor and outdoor results shot at 70m in domestic and international training environments, under the observation of the National Coach or a designated high performance program coach.

• Testing Standard Level Blue
4. Individual Performance Plan

Team Size: Archery Canada may select, up to 4 archers per gender.
Dates: Selection for this event will be made on or before April 2nd 2018.
Other: The funding level for this event has not yet been finalized. In addition to paying incidental costs, athletes should anticipate a levy.

3.2 WORLD CUP, ANTALYA, TURKEY May 21 - 26, 2018
1. Defined Competition
• Athlete performance at the 2018 Shanghai World Cup will be considered for automatic selection across two (2) dimensions as follows:
a. Any athlete who finished in the top 16 in the individual competition will be automatically selected.
b. Athletes competing in the team competition, and where the team achieves a podium result and finishes in the top 3 of team competition, will be automatically selected.

Note:
• If less than 4 athletes achieve automatic selection and there are places remaining on the team, the following 3 (three) criteria from the Recurve Team Selection Policy will be used to select athletes:

2. Past Performance
• Prior to selection, athletes eligible for selection must demonstrate a strong probability of achieving a 720 round qualifying score which is equivalent to finishing amongst the top 16 competitors in Antalya.
• Official competition scores achieved within the 12 months preceding the selection date for Antalya will be taken into consideration. Any competition result will be weighted according to competition quality.
• Performance evaluation will include 2018 indoor and outdoor results shot at 70m in domestic and international training environments, under the observation of the National Coach or a designated high performance program coach.

2017 Antalya World Cup Qualification Round, 16th place Men 663 - Women 645
Team Size: Archery Canada may select, up to 4 archers per gender.
Dates: Selection for this event will be made on or before April 29th 2018.
Other: The funding level for this event has not yet been finalized. In addition to paying incidental costs, athletes should anticipate a levy.

3.3 WORLD CUP, SALT LAKE CITY, USA June 19 - 24, 2018
1. Defined Competition
• Athlete performance at the 2018 Antalya World Cup will be considered for automatic selection across two (2) dimensions as follows:
a. Any athlete who finished in the top 16 in the individual competition will be automatically selected.
b. Athletes competing in the team competition, and where the team achieves a podium result and finishes in the top 3 of team competition, will be automatically selected,

Note:
• If less than 4 athletes achieve automatic selection and there are places remaining on the team, the following 4 (four) criteria from the Recurve Team Selection Policy will be used to select athletes:

• Performance evaluation will include 2018 indoor and outdoor results shot at 70m in domestic and international training environments, under the observation of the National Coach or a designated high performance program coach.

3.4 WORLD CUP, BERLIN, GERMANY July 16 - 22, 2017
1. Defined Competition
• Athlete performance at the 2018 Antalya World Cup and the 2018 Salt Lake City World Cup will be considered for automatic selection across two (2) dimensions as follows:
c. Any athlete who finished in the top 16 in the individual competition in one or more of the 2 (two) events will be automatically selected.
d. Athletes competing in the team competition, and where the team achieves a podium result and finishes in the top 3 of team competition in one or more of the 2 (two) competitions, will be automatically selected.

Notes:
• If there are more than 4 athletes who qualify for automatic selection, they will be ranked and selected based on the following order of 3 (three) priorities:
a. Number of podium results in 2018 World Cups
b. Highest individual finish in 2018 World Cups
c. Highest 720 score in 2018 World Cups
• If less than 4 athletes achieve automatic selection and there are places remaining on the team, the following 4 (four) criteria from the Recurve Team Selection Policy will be used to select athletes:

• Official competition scores achieved within the 12 months preceding the selection date for Berlin will be taken into consideration. Any competition result will be weighted according to competition quality.
• Performance evaluation will include 2018 indoor and outdoor results shot at 70m in domestic and international training environments, under the observation of the National Coach or a designated high performance program coach.
