Volunteer Recognition Policy
OVERVIEW
The Federation of Canadian Archers, Inc recognises the importance of volunteers to the sport of archery. There are two forms of recognition,
special plaques and lapel pins. Every year FCA Annual Awards are given to volunteers nominated by the Provinces and voted on by the FCA
Executive Committee. The wooden plaques are kept at the FCA national office. The recipients receive individual keepsakes.
FCA awards 3 levels of volunteer recognition pins presented to the individual recipient. Guidelines for pin nomination are as follows:

Silver Volunteer Recognition Pin PSO or FCA Board purchased by province or from FCA
Gold Volunteer Recognition Pin FCA Board or Executive donated from FCA inventory
Definition of Merit
1. Bronze Volunteer Recognition Pin
a) An FCA member who demonstrated long-term commitment to organized archery at the club/local level in the capacity of volunteer builder,
administrator, official, coach or other supporting role.
b) The chairperson or member of an FCA committee or sub-committee who demonstrated commitment and competency to deliver
programmes and/or services.
2. Silver Volunteer Recognition Pin
a) An FCA member who demonstrated long-term commitment to archery at the local or provincial level in the capacity of volunteer
builder, administrator, official, coach or other supporting role, who has received a Bronze Volunteer Recognition Pin already.
b) The chairperson(s) of a national championship organizing committee.
c) The chairperson(s) of the Canada Games organising committee.
d) The chairperson or member of an FCA committee or sub-committee who demonstrated exceptional commitment and competency in
fulfilling the portfolio's demands.
3. Gold Volunteer Recognition Pin
a) An FCA member who demonstrated outstanding, long-term commitment to archery at the local, provincial or national level in the capacity of
volunteer builder, administrator, official, coach or other supporting role, who has received a Silver Volunteer Recognition Pin already.
b) A national-level volunteer whose long-term commitment to FCA needs recognition by the membership.
Under unusual circumstances, the FCA Executive Committee may award Diamond Volunteer Recognition Pin
Record keeping
The FCA will collect and keep current a list of all Volunteer Recognition Pin recipients and post them on the FCA web site.

• Outstanding contribution to the sport of archery in Canada
Greg Durward Volunteer of the Year Award/Prix de reconnaissance Greg Durward Bénévole de l'Année
• A significant contribution to the development of archery in Canada
• An active volunteer on at least 2 levels of the archery network (NSO &/or PSO &/or club)
Hank Wiseman Coach of the Year Award/Prix de reconnaissance Hank Wiseman pour entraîneur de l'année
• Minimum level 2 technical and practical certification
• Coaches athlete development principles, fair play and sportsmanship
• Coaches at least 1 squad athlete
• Exemplifies dedication to coaching by promoting coaching certification
Frank Jones Male Athlete of the Year Award/Prix de reconnaissance Frank Jones pour athlete masculin de l'année
• A member of the Excellence Men Squad
• Demonstrates excellence in archery performance by exemplifying the characteristics of fair play, good sportsmanship, superior performance in major competitions and a commitment to training
Dorothy Lidstone Female Athlete of the Year Award/Prix de reconnaissance Dorothy Lidstone pour athlète feminine de l'année
• A member of the Excellence Women Squad
• Demonstrates excellence in archery performance by exemplifying the characteristics fair play, good sportsmanship, superior performance
in major competitions and a commitment to training
Tom Mack Junior Athlete of the Year Award/Prix de reconnaissance Tom Mack pour athlète junior de l'année
• A member of the Excellence Junior Squad
• Demonstrates excellence in archery performance by exemplifying the characteristics fair play, good sportsmanship, superior performance in
competitions and a commitment to training
Sylvio Beauregard Judge of the Year AwardPrix de reconnaissance Sylvio Beauregard Juge de l'année
• Minimum provincial level Judge status
• Judges; athlete development principles, fair play and sportsmanship
• Exemplifies dedication to judging by promoting judge certification
